Summers in North Texas are normally very hot but the 2006 summer was abnormally so with many days tipping 110 degrees. To make matters worse our air conditioner was on it’s last leg and was unable to keep our home cooler than 85 degrees Fahrenheit. We didn’t have the money to upgrade our air conditioner at the time so we decided to invest in some strategically placed solar screens for our windows on the sunny side of our house. (more…)
