Staying Safe with House Insurance

If you are looking for ways to save yourself a little cash or a place where some corners can be cut, I would like to recommend that you do NOT consider reducing your home insurance coverage or getting rid of certain aspects of your policy.  After the year my husband and I had in 2007, I can unequivocally say that homeowner’s insurance can certainly be a life saver. Picking the Perfect Kitchen Flooring

Shopping for flooring for my kitchen remodeling project was certainly an adventure.  My husband and I thought we had picked out the perfect laminate flooring for the kitchen from Lowe’s, but it was well before we were actually ready to install the flooring.  So, we decided to wait on purchasing it. Beautiful Shiny Stainless Steel Appliances

Fingerprints!  Oh, those cursed fingerprints!  I already talked about how fingerprints have become my nemesis when it comes to the black cabinets we installed during our kitchen remodeling project.  What I failed to mention is that they have also crept up somewhere else in our kitchen:  on the stainless steel appliances. Kitchen Cabinets and Fingerprints

When it came time to select the cabinets for our kitchen remodeling project, I think my husband and I really didn’t know what we were getting ourselves into.  There are so many different styles, sizes and extras to choose from that I found myself in a bit of an information overload.  I browsed through the Internet to look for ideas and I collected every cabinet brochure and booklet I could find from every home improvement store and cabinet supplier within a 70 mile radius from our house.  (more…)

Choosing Kitchen Countertops

Sometimes I miss my old, ugly laminate countertops.  Don’t get me wrong, the Corian solid countertops we installed during our kitchen remodeling project are absolutely beautiful and they are very high quality, but I sometimes think that is the problem. (more…)
