Backing Up Your Snacks

With the help of my kitchen remodeling project, I have actually managed to install more cabinets in my kitchen that I really have a need for.  Don’t get me wrong, I am 100% confident in my abilities to ultimately fill each and every one of those cabinets.  But, for now, I have some cabinets that have gone completely unused and I don’t have anything that needs to go inside of them. The Stuff Plight

This is a confession and a pledge. I’m a stuffaholic, but I take solace in that I’m not alone. My husband was also a stuffaholic as were my mother and dad. Hmmm, I wonder if there is a genetic factor. Anyway, my pledge is to rid myself of all excess baggage. (more...)

Composting: Not a Popular Sport

What Sells A Home

I worked in real estate for a few years while I was trying to make up my mind what I wanted to do when I grew up. Interest rates were high and the market was flat as were my commissions, but all was not lost. I learned some valuable lessons.

Remodeling: Not For the Faint Hearted

Our first and last remodel job was a little one bedroom, one bathroom single story house built in the 50’s. It was in a quiet neighborhood near schools and, my mom and dad owned it. That was a big plus because my husband and I could buy with ideal terms and zero down payment. We turned that house into a three bedroom home with a daylight basement and turned ourselves grey doing it.

Who Would Have Thought A Faucet Could Mean So Much?

Have you ever shopped for a new kitchen faucet?  If you are like me, there are two things you will be amazed by when you start your search for the perfect faucet.  The first will be shock at the number of different styles, sizes and designs of kitchen faucets available.  The second will be dismay at the price tags that come with many of these faucets. What Do You Think When You Think “Garage?”

When hearing the word “garage,” my husband begins to grunt like a deranged maniac.  He is and always has been a “car guy,” which explains why we have three garages on our property.  While I love our garages almost as much as he does, our minds are not always in the same place when we hear that magical word….”garage.” (more…)
